Male Voice Choir
Stoneleigh Male Voice Choir combined with the Kenilworth Lions to fund a piece of equipment for Myton Hospice
Sometime in the late-1980s the then Rector of Stoneleigh asked his Sunday School teacher whether she could persuade a few men to get together and sing a couple of carols, as a group, at the Christmas carol service. She did, and Stoneleigh Male Voice Choir was born.
The choir now delivers concerts to a wide variety of audience, and usually in support of a charity. Major annual events are “Summer Serenade”, an open air ‘champagne concert’ in a large Stoneleigh garden and a winter ‘musical show’ in Stoneleigh Village Hall. In recent years, the choir itself has donated around £3000 annually to local and national charities and, by singing at events organised by others, helped these other organisations to raise funds for their specific projects; we estimate that the choir’s total fund raising efforts total around £7000 each year. Their music is chosen to suit all tastes and choir membership includes a wide range of choral ability from enthusiastic beginner to talented soloists. The choir employs a professional musical Director.
Membership: Membership currently totals around 35 and members are drawn from Stoneleigh and the surrounding area and the choir will always welcome new members. Membership fees are £30 per quarter.
Meetings: The choir meets each Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Stoneleigh Village Hall (except during August).

The Stoneleigh Male Voice Choir has three main objectives:
· To entertain others
· To raise money for good causes
· To enjoy ourselves (but not necessarily in that order!!)
The choir is always ready to sing for organisations with a fund raising objective and, to this end, has performed in recent times for Cancer Research UK, Cubbington Church, Kenilworth Talking News, Myton Hospice, Diabetes UK, the Salvation Army, Stoneleigh Village Hall and Astley Church for example.
Any organisation seeking support from the choir should, in the first instance, contact our Marketing Representative: Geoff Mexson, telephone 01926 854 602.
2018 the Salvation Army receives £1000 from the choir
