Parish Council

Ashow, Burton Green and Stoneleigh Joint Parish Council meet on the second Thursday of each month except in August when there is no meeting. Members of the public are invited to attend and to speak at the invitation of the Chairman during the Public Session.

There are 14 unpaid Councillors representing the four Wards of Stoneleigh, Ashow, Burton Green and the University of Warwick. The Chairman of the Council is Howard Baker and the Parish Clerk is Pat Maddison. Stoneleigh village itself has four Councillors.

The Parish Council is supported by Warwick District Councillor Bertie Mackay and Warwick County Councillor Michael Doody. Matters of planning and the provision of services in all four Wards are considered at meetings.

The 2011-2012 “precept” for all four Wards is £25,452. An annual grant is given to the Stoneleigh and Ashow News and a contribution given to the upkeep of the churchyard. The swings in the Village Hall Playing Fields are inspected annually. The financial year runs from April 1st to March 31st and the auditor of accounts is Clement Keys of Calthorpe Road, Birmingham, to whom any enquiries about accounts should be directed.
